Broken link checker: find the dead links on a page (free)

A link that leads to an error page costs you visitors. Type a page address: we read the page, then test up to 60 of its links one by one and list the dead ones.

Check a page

What counts as broken

  1. 404 Not Found or 410 Gone. The page was moved or deleted. Fix the link or add a 301 redirect.
  2. The domain does not resolve. The other site shut down or the name is misspelled.
  3. No answer in 8 seconds. The other server is down or too slow. Check again later before you act.
  4. Certificate problem. Browsers show a warning before your visitor reaches the page.
  5. 500, 502 and 504 server errors. Often temporary. Check a second time.
  6. Redirects. A link that redirects works, but a long chain is slow. We show where it ends so you can link to the final address.
  7. Not counted as broken. 401, 403, 429 and 503 answers. Many sites (LinkedIn, X, Cloudflare-protected shops) refuse bots but work for people. We list them as "blocked to bots", open them by hand.

More than one page

This checks the links of one page. The free Site Check crawls your site in a real browser and also measures mobile layout, speed, share previews and structured data.
