Agent-Ready Check · data from 2026-11-02
Is my website AI agent friendly? What 36 new launch pages showed
Site owners ask whether ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can use their site. We have a check for that, so we ran it on 36 freshly launched product pages (a mix of two launch directories, read on 2026-11-02) and counted. The sites are not named: this is about what is common, not who is wrong.
The counts
| What an agent meets | Pages |
|---|---|
Serve a real llms.txt | 26 of 36 |
| Publish any agent capability file (MCP card, OpenAPI, agents.json, api-catalog, A2A card or AGENTS.md) | 4 of 36 |
| Put a captcha, bot check or Google-only login on the sign-up path | 2 of 36 |
| Block AI answer bots (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity search and user agents) in robots.txt | 0 of 36 |
| Home page answered our agent with a server error (not a bot wall) | 1 of 36 |
| No JSON-LD structured data | 6 of 36 |
| Score 100 of 100 | 15 of 36 |
| Median score (lowest 73) | 96 of 100 |
Numbers are computed from the run's own JSON, not typed. Caveat: these are makers who list on agent-friendly launch directories, so the llms.txt share is higher than on the web at large. Read it as "new launch pages", not "the web".
What it means for your site
- llms.txt is common among new products, capability files are not. Most pages tell agents what the site is; few tell them what an agent can do there. If your product has an API, an OpenAPI file or an MCP card is the gap.
- Nobody blocked the answer bots. Blocking training bots such as GPTBot is a fair choice; blocking the answer bots hides you from AI answers. Check yours with the robots.txt AI bot checker.
- Sign-up is where agents stop. A captcha on the sign-up form is the one thing an agent cannot pass for a person, so those pages score lower.
- An llms.txt that is really an HTML page counts as missing. Validate yours with the llms.txt checker.

The free Agent-Ready Check runs the same engine on your address: robots.txt rules for 12 AI bots, llms.txt, bot walls and captchas, text that only appears after JavaScript, JSON-LD, and a 0-100 score with the formula shown. No sign-up.
